Tri-State is a culmination of the Bousquet Racing continuum for athletes 10-18yrs of age. These teams (U12, U14, U16, and U18+) focus on advanced to elite alpine racing skill development as well as athletic and personal growth. Our holistic coaching philosophy incorporates gate training while maintaining emphasis on fun and proper fundamental technique. The design of this program values both the experienced racer, and the experienced skier looking to develop their racing abilities. Athletes in this program can expect to travel for competition most weekends throughout the season, where they get to compete against some of the best skiers in the region. Our coaching staff will accompany athletes and parents to races and will work closely with your child to address their individual goals. While our main focus is USSA regional competitions we do offer FIS level support when appropriate. Bousquet is steeped in tradition of producing U.S. Ski Team and FIS level athletes and our program is designed to make any goal to materialize.
Similar to other programs, our Tri-State program focuses on the long-term success of the skier, and to maximize their potential through targeted training plans. With some of the best snowmaking in the East, Bousquet provides the necessary training venue for your child to reach their goals. With a terrific athlete to coach ratio, skiers will receive individualized instruction that will provide the foundation for improvement athletically, tactically, and technically.
Our race participants will forge friendships with teammates and coaches that will last a lifetime, and learn to compete at the highest level while displaying unrivaled sportsmanship.
Training:
Training is weekend-based (Saturday and Sunday) beginning December 14, 2024, weather permitting. With an emphasis on USSA’s Long Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD), coaches have developed progression plans that are uniquely tailored to athletes that will both maximize their long-term potential and enjoyment in their sport. As this approach states, coaches focus on the long-term successes, not just the short-term competitive successes. Thus, Bousquet Race Team focuses on a holistic approach with approximately 20-45% directed free skiing, 20% drill based, 25-40% gate training, and 10-20% competition simulation (dependent on where each athlete falls on the development phases domain).
Membership:
At the Tri-State level athletes will be required to hold a current USSS “alpine competitors” membership (U.S. Ski and Snowboard) and TSASRA (Tri-State Alpine Ski Racing Association) membership. When registering with USSS, you must designate Bousquet Race Team as your affiliate program. Your Tri-State membership will be processed automatically once you have designated your Club.
This program includes the 3-day Holiday Camp.
